2018 IN REVIEW
2019 is here and it would be awesome to take a look at the fun memories of 2018!
It was an exciting year for the Tizeti team as we continued executing on our vision to become the №1 Data, Voice and Video provider in Africa.
GROWTH & SCALE
We increased our number of hotspot locations to over 11,000 and hundreds of thousands of customers connecting daily.
SERIES A FINANCING
We raised $3 million in our Series A financing round from our existing investors and this brings our total investment to $5.1 million. The funding is to improve our customer service, upgrade our network infrastructure, improve our internal processes to keep up with our user data demand and provide a fantastic user experience for them.
OUR TEAM
We understand that our staff members are our most valuable asset and we grewfrom 50 to 270 employees in 2018 (https://youtu.be/kxBc3UDoq2M), whilst compensating early employees with stock option.
In order to accommodate the growing staff strength, we moved into a new office.
PARTNERSHIP
FACEBOOK PARTNERSHIP
In 2018, we strengthened our partnership with Facebook and deployed over a thousand hotspot locations making it the largest outdoor public WiFi deployed in Nigeria.
DSTV PARTNERSHIP
We also partnered with DSTV on a number of programs which included Big Brother Nigeria Season 3 and Battle Ground to increase our reach.
SERVICE UPGRADES
We upgraded from 802.11n Wifi Access Points to 802.11ac technology to deliver faster speeds and better user -experience.
We built more towers and now cover over 80% of areas in Lagos. In 2019 we plan to expand to other states in Nigeria.
CELEBRATING 2018 AND LOOKING FORWARD TO 2019
THE TRUPPR CORPORATE CUP
We participated in the maiden edition of The Truppr Corporate Cup
and emerged as 1st runner up with the highest number of goals scored in the tournament.
TEAM BUILDING AT HIGH IMPACT
We closed the year by taking time out to relax and celebrate our achievements.
